On Saturday, 28th March 2026, Lusaka came alive as 17 organisations gathered for the annual World Vision Corporate Sports Day. What unfolded was more than a day of competition, it was a collective commitment to a shared cause: creating safer journeys to education for girls in rural Zambia.

Together, participating organisations and partners raised K800,300, funding bicycles for schoolgirls who face long and often dangerous walks to access education.

In many rural communities, the journey to school begins before sunrise. Hours on foot expose girls to safety risks and leave them exhausted before classes even begin. Corporate Sports Day turns this reality into action.

A standout moment of the event was the CEO Challenge, where corporate leaders raced bicycles against the clock, symbolically reflecting the daily journey of thousands of Zambian girls. The challenge underscored a simple but transformative truth: access to a bicycle can change everything. With reliable transport, girls spend less time walking and more time learning, resting, and thriving.

When organisations unite around a common purpose, they move girls closer to opportunity. Because every girl deserves more than just a safe journey to school. She deserves the chance to arrive at her future.

This August, Corporate Sports Day moves to Solwezi, bringing more organisations together to play for purpose and raise bicycles for girls in need.
