Mr. Matthew Pickard

Regional Leader, Southern Africa Region

Matthew Pickard is an accomplished executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in international development across Asia and Africa. As Regional Leader for Southern Africa, Matthew oversees strategic direction and operational excellence, leveraging his deep expertise to drive impactful development initiatives. 

Prior to his current role, Matthew served as Associate Vice President for Organizational Effectiveness at CARE US, where he led transformative strategies to enhance organizational performance and empower teams. His career includes significant leadership positions such as Regional Director for Southern Africa and Country Director for CARE Malawi, Save the Children Malawi, Save the Children LAO PDR, Concern Worldwide India, and Christian Aid Mozambique. 

Matthew began his career with a nine-month internship at World Vision UK, which ignited his lifelong commitment to humanitarian and development work. His extensive experience and visionary leadership continue to advance sustainable development and positive change throughout the region.
