Dr. Sitali Maswenyeho is a seasoned Paediatrician and Medical Doctor with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and community-based public health programming. He currently leads Premium Medical Services Limited, a prominent private healthcare facility in Zambia that partners with NHIMA to deliver essential health services nationwide.
Throughout his career, Dr. Maswenyeho has played a pivotal role in advancing child and maternal health in Zambia. He has supported the Ministry of Health in developing and implementing national guidelines for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI), Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), and Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT). His leadership was instrumental in introducing the Pentavalent vaccine and scaling up PMTCT services to all 116 districts, contributing to over 89% annual ARV coverage among pregnant and breastfeeding women living with HIV.
Dr. Maswenyeho has worked extensively with international organizations including USAID, UNICEF, and GAVI, providing technical assistance, designing health system strengthening proposals, and leading monitoring and evaluation efforts. He was a key figure in Zambia’s Polio eradication campaigns and the establishment of Child Health Week, which has achieved over 90% coverage in Vitamin A supplementation.
His expertise has also been sought internationally, notably in Nigeria, where he evaluated and helped scale up child health initiatives. A passionate advocate for child survival and maternal health, Dr. Maswenyeho continues to contribute to Zambia’s healthcare landscape, including efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery in the wake of COVID-19
